Righteous Kill

Dr. Prosky: How do you feel when you’ve fired your weapon?

Dr. Prosky: And when the wrong people get shot?

Turk: It sucks… but I’d rather be in than out.

Quantum of Solace

A car chase, a foot chase, a boat chase, a plane chase and a run for your life!  Quantum Solace starts with a bang and continues on high octane until the very end.  I love this Bond.  No silly gadgets or cars rigged with smoke and mirrors, just pure adrenaline, sweat and brawn. ~Shelli Carlisle,  Living Life…Boomer Style Magazine

Cast: Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright

Street Kings

I was intrigued by the level of violence surrounding the character and the dramatic consequences of that,” explains Keanu Reeves. “He can be viewed as either someone who kills in the name of the law or someone who delivers justice. Dramatically, there’s a high price to pay and I was interested in how it would all play out.”

Cast: Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans, Cedric the Entertainer, Jay Mohr, Terry Crews, Naomie Harris

Taken

Memorable Dialogue

Brian Mills: I don’t know you who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you’re looking for a ransom, I can tell you, I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills acquired over a very long career in the shadows, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you. And I will kill you.

Cast: Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Leland Orse, John Gries

The Dark Knight

I’m not good at future planning. I don’t plan at all. I don’t know what I’m doing tomorrow. I don’t have a day planner and I don’t have a diary. I completely live in the now, not in the past, not in the future.

~Heath Ledger

Ledger’s Joker is played to the exceptional level of Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the movie ‘Silence of the Lambs.

~Arthur Cofresi, Living Life…Boomer Style Magazine

The Day the Earth Stood Still

A Bit of  Trivia

“Real scientists don’t describe an object entering the solar system as ‘notable for the fact that it was not moving in an asteroidal ellipse, but moving at nearly 3*10 to the seventh meters per second’. More likely, they would say that there was ‘a goddamned rock headed our way!'”  ~Seth Shostak, renowned astronomer, film consultant

Cast: Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connolly, Jaden Smith, John Cleese, Jon Hamm, Kyle Chandler,  Kathy Bates

The Incredible Hulk

A Very Hunky Hulk

First of all, you never make all things for all people and can`t always pander to the broadest denominator. I keep an eye toward doing the themes that interest me. Do they move me? Interest me? Make me think? When I run across something that is provocative in an unsettling way, it appeals to me. ~ Edward Norton

Cast: Edward Norton, Tim Roth, Liv Tyler, William Hurt, Tim Blake Nelson

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

This is the largest picture ever shot on Chinese soil. It’s a Western production. The cooperative elements that go into that…if you think about the hurdles and the red tape and things that I really can’t answer to, but I just do know that there’s a common vocabulary in filmmaking that to my eye and experience seems to be universal. It transcends the boundaries of the fact that there were five working languages on the set, the locations were difficult to get to. In the end filmmaking is about, ‘Hey, we’re only here once. Suck it up. Do this the right way. Get the job done,’ because it’s going to last forever if you’re doing the job right. ~Brendan Fraiser

Cast: Brendan Fraiser, Jet Li, Maria Bello, John Hannah, Michelle Yeoh, Luke Ford, Isabella Leong

The Spirit

by Eva Mendes

….It’s fun to be a woman. It’s fun to flirt and wear makeup and have boobs.

…guys can be yucky, and girls are sweet, soft and smell good.

..I’m a girl’s girl.

..One of the perks of being a girl is playing with makeup..

I feel I’ll take on the responsibility of showing the world a whole different kind of Latin woman.

Women now, we can juggle a lot of things.

We’re not just girlfriends or love interests.  So that’s really great to not just make her the chick and give her something to do.

Cast: Gabriel Macht, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L Jackson, Sarah Paulson, Eva Mendes, Dan Lauria, Paz Vega

The Unborn

The Unborn: Trivia

The doctor that Sofia is talking about as she recounts her time in Auschwitz is the infamous Dr. Josef Mengele. He was notorious for selecting those that came off the cattle carts for those who lived or were sent to the gas chambers. He was particularly interested in experimenting with people, whether it be freezing people in sub-zero water or changing the color of the iris of eyes. He also had a deep interest in twins and would do organ switching, blood transfusions or sewing twins together.

Cast: Odette Yustman, Gary Oldman, Cam Gigandet, Megan Good
